In the meantime we have purchased anchor chain and constructed a way of having the new (smaller) anchor wound up and down on a spool attached to a motor. The anchor mechanism will be finished off and mounted when the hull has been assembled.

At the moment we are also busy constructing our first torpedo, torpedo tube and compressed air tube with magnetic valve for giving the torpedo a boost. The front half of the torpedo is constructed from a cigar tube, the back end will be made of lathed wood, bored out to take the propeller axle. We hope to use the motor from an electric toothbrush to power the torpedo. The compressed air tube is made from a piece of pvc pipe with an car valve melted into one end and a magnetic valve on the end attached to the torpedo tube. The first compressed air tube will be blown up with air to its breaking point to determine how much pressure it can actually take.
