Bow
Work is still proceeding on the bow. As can be seen from the photo of a Type VII B below, the bow begins from a narrow point and bulges out to make room for the torpedo tubes. Based on plans from 1940, we have cut guiding strips to bring the Robbe bow into the correct alignment. This is no easy task. The point of the bow needed to be cut away to make it narrower. Unfortunately the Robbe bow has no bulging at all and therefore several incisions have had to be made in the bow in order to fashion the appropriate bulge. Interior ribbing was fashioned both to hold the torpedo tubes and to form a guide for the correct exterior proportions of the bow.
